Institutional Effectiveness (IE) assists Planning Leaders with planning efforts to ensure that each unit has well-articulated outcomes in the form of goals, tactics, and measures. The division helps units use assessment results from planning efforts to improve performance and refine goals, tactics, and measures and to link their planning to resource alignment.
IE supports units with appropriately linking defined outcomes to the Creating a Legacy Like No Other strategic and interwoven priorities. IE staff also provides training and consulting on planning and resource alignment, as well as on using Anthology/Campus Labs, the Augusta University system of record for planning, assessment, and accreditation.
IE provides administrative oversight for the execution of the institution's Strategic Plan. Services include monitoring and reporting on strategic planning progress, management of planning resources and communications, and periodic updates to the Strategic Plan. IE will also provide support for strategic planning at the college/school and division level, including coordination of effort using basic, standardized project management tools and techniques.
The strategic plan Beyond Boundaries guided Augusta University from 2017 to 2022.

Transformation 2020 was the strategic plan for Georgia Health Sciences University, released in early 2012.
In fall 2011, Augusta University outlined a bold 8-year vision for the future of medical and health professions education in Georgia. The Augusta University update was presented to the Board of Regents on Nov. 13, 2013.
In Action for Excellence is the Augusta State University 2010-2015 strategic plan prior to the consolidation with Georgia Health Sciences University.
In 2010, Georgia Health Sciences University formulated the framework, structure, language, and vision enabling the university to optimize its role as Georgia's health sciences university and academic health center. The Enterprise-Wide Strategic Planning (ESP) initiative launched an enterprise-wide process of engagement, self-appraisal, and needs assessment in August 2010.
