Components & How to Use Them

What are Components?

• Components are aform-basedtype of reusable content that gathers information and adds it into complex design elements.
• A component on a pageprompts you to enter informationand adds source code to format and display the information on the page.
• Components are created by Web Services. Any requests for components need to be made through theWeb Work Request Form.

How to Insert Components

To insert a component,click the "Insert Component" icon,represented by a atom, on the toolbar. A "Choose Component" pop-up box will appear.

Then, select from the list of options.

• Note: the component will appear where your cursor was in edit mode.
• Editby clicking thepencilicon after clicking the component in edit mode.
• Deleteby clicking thexicon after clicking the component in edit mode.
• Follow any other instructions the individual component contains, noting which fields are optional.
