Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology, was founded in 1929 with a mission to encourage excellence in scholarship and advance the science of psychology.More than three-quarters of a million lifetime membershave joined includingDistinguished Memberssuch as Drs. Albert Bandura, B. F. Skinner, and Phillip Zimbardo. A few popularMembership Benefitsinclude international recognition for academic excellence, as well as access topsychology-related publications, and more than $400,000 in annualawards and grants.

Purpose Statement:Psi Chi is an international honor society whose purpose shall be to encourage, stimulate, and maintain excellence in scholarship of the individual members in all fields, particularly in psychology, and to advance the science of psychology.
Psi Chi is a member of theAssociation of College Honor Societiesand is an affiliate of theAmerican Psychological Association(APA) and theAssociation for Psychological Science(APS).
Lifetime Membership is open to undergraduate and graduate students, transfer students, full-time and part-time faculty members, and alumni. Individuals become members by joining their Augusta University (AU) Psi Chi chapter. See the specificmembership requirements.
After potential members are approved by our local faculty advisor (Dr. Tadd Patton), membership will be processed and completed on the Psi Chi Headquarters online system. The International Psi Chi Headquarters membership fee is $55. In addition, there is a local chapter fee of $20. Thus, your total membership dues consist of a one-time fee of $75.
Note that in conjunction with the AU Psychology Club, The AU chapter of Psi Chi is active in sponsoring speakers and programs of interest to psychology majors the general Augusta community, and the broader CSRA.You do not have to be a member of Psi Chi to attend chapter meetings.
