Music majors have a number of scholarship opportunities available each year. Traditionally these awards range from $300 - $3,000 and are awarded annually based on audition. All students receiving a music scholarship must maintain a 2.5 GPA and be a music major in order to retain their award. Auditioning students are automatically considered for all awards.
All incoming students will be considered for a scholarship. If you are presently receiving a music scholarship award, you will need to reapply and audition for your award each year. To reapply, complete a Returning Student Scholarship Application and return it to the Music Departmental Office before the end of classes in the fall semester. Your fall applied jury will be your scholarship audition for the next academic year.
Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority Augusta District Scholarship – given to outstanding female musician
American Music Teachers Association Award – given to an outstanding pianist
Augusta Opera Scholarship – for vocal students
Cantine Jones Scholarship Endowment - for instrumental and vocal students
Chelsea Collins Memorial Scholarship Endowment - for instrumental and vocal students
Cleo Mauldin Foundation Awards – for instrumental and vocal students
Emily Stevens Baumann Scholarship Endowment – given to a student with interest in music therapy
Kelley Drake Scholarship Endowment – given to an outstanding female musician
Kevin Mulherin Foundation Scholarship – given to an outstanding pianist
Lucille Fleischer American Opera and Music Theatre Institute Endowment – for vocal students
Lucille Fleischer Endowment – for vocal students
Mary S. Byrd Music Scholarship Award - given to entering freshman from a Columbia County high school
Maxwell Foundation Awards - for instrumental and vocal students
McKenney Award - for instrumental and vocal students
Nissa Bren Moles Music Scholarship Endowment – given to an outstanding string student
St. John United Methodist Church – Choral Scholar program for vocalists
St. Mark United Methodist Church – Choral Scholar program for vocalists
Storyland Theatre Award – vocal recipient participates in Storyland Theatre productions
Theo and Artemisia Thevaos Endowment - for instrumental and vocal students
Wycliffe Gordon Jazz Scholarship Endowment – given to an outstanding jazz student
