College of Nursing Athens campus celebrates 50 years of nursing education
The College of Nursing began in Athens in 1943 as a department at the University of Georgia.
Graduate School Dean Jennifer Sullivan, PhD, has been appointed Interim Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost. In this role, Dr. Sullivan will be responsible for advancing the university's mission, ensuring excellence, and fostering innovation in both the delivery of existing knowledge and the discovery of new knowledge.
The Provost is accountable for the achievement of the university’s strategic priorities, through actively engaging in planning and resource allocation to deliver tangible results and provide a foundation for future prosperity.

Creating an institutional framework for determining faculty workload and identify next steps for implementing processes, procedures, and policies for assigning and managing workload.
The Regents' Entrepreneur designation may be granted by the Board of Regents to an outstanding full-time tenured faculty member who has an established reputation as a successful innovator and who has taken their research into a commercial setting.
Regents' Professorships are bestowed by the Board of Regents on truly distinguished faculty whose scholarship or creative activity is recognized both nationally and internationally as innovative and pace-setting.
The Student Research Program (SRP) is an initiative funded by the Augusta University Provost office, intended to encourage outstanding research, scholarship, and creative activities by AU Students.

“The main purpose of this organization is to go into the community and train people like kids or young adults about how to manage crisis situations,” says Vikas Kumar, MD.
“I enjoyed getting to witness the professionalism and inquisitive nature of our students involved in the program. They were a great group," says Julie Goley.
