Dr. Winston maintains active research in medical education and clinical pharmacy. She studies professional identity formation in healthcare students and clinicians, particularly in those who have been historically excluded from medicine. She collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to study the influence of interprofessional education opportunities among healthcare students. Dr. Winston continues to provide her expertise in pulmonary drug delivery systems and has had the opportunity to work with colleagues in the Dental College of Georgia to explore pharmacogenomics in periodontal procedures.
