Appointment Date: 1998

Dr. Sinex is a 1990 graduate of Wabash College with Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa honors, awarded a Distinguished ranking on that institution’s rigorous Comprehensive Exams, and a 1994 graduate of the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, with election to Alpha Omega Alpha in 1993. He went on to complete an internship and residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Cincinnati in 1998. Accepting a faculty position at the Medical College of Georgia on completion of that program, he has been a faculty member of the Department of Emergency Medicine ever since.

He was awarded the University’s Distinguished Faculty Award for Patient Care in May of 2005, given by the Faculty Senate of the School of Medicine. From his own Department, he has six times been the recipient of the annual Outstanding Faculty Clinician award, as well as being a recipient of the Outstanding Faculty Educator award.

He served as the Department’s Director of Quality Assurance for 9 years, from 2002 until 2011. He has served on multiple institutional committees, including the Performance Improvement Committee (2002 – 2011), Peer Review Committee (2003 – 2011), Professional Practice Group Board of Trustees (2009-10), Credentials Committee (2002 – present, including Chair), and the Medical Executive Committee (Dec 2011 – 2016, including Chair).

Elected by the medical staff as President-elect in 2011, Dr. Sinex served as President of the Medical Staff from July 2013 until June of 2015.
