Licensure and Certification

Students earning a Master of Science with a Major in Allied Health and a Concentration in Nutrition from Augusta University will be eligible for licensure in all states that require a license to practice as a Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist after successfully completing the registration examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

  • Georgia Residents State Licensure
  • South Carolina Residents State Licensure

Forty-six states have enacted legislation regulating the practice of dietetics. State licensure and state certification are entirely separate and distinct from registration or certification by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

Licensure Disclosure Statement

In most states, graduates also must obtain licensure or certification to practice. The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics has determined (April 17, 2024) that the required classes and educational activities of this academic program satisfies the requirements of all states and territories requiring state licensure or certification after passing the Registration Examination for Dietitians administered by the Commission of Dietetic Registration and obtaining the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist credential. Visit the Commission on Dietetic Registration to determine the requirements of your state or territory.
